History of Quinceanera's.
The history of Quinceanera's originated from the Aztec's. Every culture has a memorable way of a young girl moving into adulthood. As for the Hispanic's theirs is having a 14 year old girl & her family plan a celebration for her fifteenth birthday. For Catholic's the tradition is to have a ceremony at a church followed by a dinner reception & a party, As for Christianity their tradition is only supposed to be a ceremony followed by a dinner reception; But many have the party after the dinner reception to also celebrate. Usually during her church reception she is changed into her crown or a tiara. Traditionally their is a Corte De Honor that contain's the chambelanes & damas, which are chosen by the Quinceanera girl. Within the party there is multiple dances by choice. But before any dance begins the Mona ( doll ) is given to her as her last doll of her childhood, Then after the father would have to change her shoes into heels, after that there would be the father daughter dance as he gives his daughter away into womanhood. After that there would be the traditional Vals where the damas & chambelanes join the quinceanera girl & chambelane de honor. If the girl wants to she is able to also have a suprise dance after, that usually contains the Corte De Honor, or just her & her damas. Usually just a dance for fun. Then towards the end before the cutting of the cake would begin, the Toast is made where she thanks everyone helping her celebrate & making the wonderful day possible. After, she would cut her cake with her parents & as for the rest of the night she would enjoy it with her family & friends.
